Congratulations, Aimee and Shawn!

It was a beautiful day in mid-May for a gorgeous bride and groom to be married! Aimee and Shawn exchanged their vows at the Newland Barn in Costa Mesa, in front of the gazebo, with a pretty carnation curtain backdrop! These floral curtain was eventually transferred and hang on the tree branches behind their sweetheart table. Each of the guests' table was adorned with dainty floral centerpieces with white hydrangeas, roses, hyacinth, lisianthus, scabiosa pods and variety of foliage for texture, arranged in mason jars and vases with vintage flair. I am looking forward to getting more photos and hopefully be able to share here soon.

Cake Expo VIP Lounge #cake15,  Costa Mesa

What a great time I had this past October 17th, 2015, as I participated for the first time at the Cake Expo at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. I was invited by Gizelle of Party Pieces by Perry to join her and other weddings and events professionals to decorate the VIP Lounge area at the expo. The area was beautifully transformed with the awesome furniture pieces (of Party Pieces by Perry, of course) like the farm tables and benches, elegant lounge sofas and chairs, vintage trunk and arbor as backdrop of the sweetheart table and chairs. I created gorgeous floral arrangements in marsala pantone colors scheme that went perfectly with the overall look of the room. The cake and dessert table spread was provided by Berries and Blush Cake Studio, which looked so yummy and beautiful at the same time, while the lovely tabletop vintage china were provided by Cherished Rentals. The beautiful chalk art on easel was created by Made by Davina Kim, and the amazing photos were taken by Jerrick of Three 16 Photography.

The expo had many talented and creative people in the baking and confections industry, as well as party planners and stylists. The place was filled with different sugary treats and displays. It was a two day event, ending with awards ceremony for the winners of the cake decorating and display competitions.

Vintage Luau 90th Birthday Celebration

This party was so much fun to create the floral arrangements for. What can be more "Hawaiian" than creating the arrangements using fresh pineapples as the vessel? I used bright and colorful flowers in season such as dark and light blue delphiniums, yellow roses, orange gerberas, mango calla lilies, hydrangeas with assorted foliage. I added light blue hybrid delphinium blooms to an all-white dendrobium lei for the 90 year old birthday celebrant.  This gentle grandpa couldn't be happier with the turn out of this awesome party in his honor, as he was surrounded by his beloved family, and lots of delicious food, fruits and desserts!

Our birthday get away in Catalina Island

What an awesome day we had at Catalina Island to celebrate our birthdays together! Such a relaxing get away from the grind, and hustle and bustle of the city! Started early this past Sunday morning, boarded on Catalina flyer from Newport Beach, and got to Avalon in one hour and 15 minutes. We started the day with a thanksgiving mass, then had a scrumptious lunch. Went for a walk, sight seeing and window shopping. Took the trolley for a scenic tour, taking lots of photos in between. Feeling rejuvenated, and ready to get creative again for the days ahead! Hmmm...we should do this more often!

Graduation Party.

What a pleasure it was to work with PG and Nancy to celebrate Nancy's graduation from CalState Long Beach! Venue was in Spaghettini Grill and Bar in Seal Beach, who's staff were just awesome to work with. I created the gorgeous centerpieces in glass cube vases which I embellished with gold and black rhinestone ribbon, filled them with beautiful yellow roses, cymbidium roses and gerberas, mixed in some interesting foliage such as Song of India, pepperberries, eucalyptus, oregonia, variegated ti leaves, dianthus, escabiosa pods and dusty miller.
As guests enter the room, they were welcome to check in to see where they will sit,- I wrote their names on a little place cards. A wishing tree I made with manzanita branch,  was there for them to write on their well wishes, greetings and happy thoughts for the beloved grad Nancy! I heard it was a hit!

Styled Shoot

This was a beautiful collaboration with Dean, of Dean Bernard Events and Design. I met Dean through one of my recent brides, Arianne. He was her wedding planner, and we hit it off and enjoyed working together so much so that we did a styled shoot in Carson a few weeks after Arianne's wedding. It was for a 30th birthday party, with rustic vintage theme. Everything came out nice, despite that windy and rainy afternoon.
Thanks to Monica for the beautiful photos and Dean's assistants in putting this party together. The photo shoot was a success way before the guests started arriving.

A visit to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California

For more than 2 decades now,  Carlsbad, California, has been welcoming visitors to a beautiful, magical place, where every spring time, over 50 acres of coastal farmland becomes a hillside rainbow, created by millions of ranunculus! What an alluring sight it is! Locals and tourists alike, people of all ages, in small groups of family members or friends, or large party of clubs and associations, the field of these gorgeous flowers are just a crowd pleaser. It is an experience to be in the field, getting a close up view and feel of these beautiful flowers in full bloom! For my husband, Ferdinand, and I, who's been florists for 25 years (and counting), it was quite a different experience to be where the flowers are grown, and harvested. It really was an experience to remember, as we enjoyed God's creation of beauty and nature. ( Photos #3,4,5&6 were from the 2015 Official souvenir program.)

Gala dinner at the La Valencia Hotel, La Jolla

What an awesome night we had at the gala! It was our third and last day of the Master Floral Experience with Karen Tran. Held at the beautiful La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, everything was just perfect! Class #KtLaV partied the night away! It was a great feeling to see how we have transformed the banquet room into an impressive and elegant atmosphere that suited the occasion. Fabulous and oversized floral centerpieces and  table runners that overflowed to the ends graced the long table where we dined. Lovely floral chandeliers and of course, the heart-stopping floral wall which was an absolute focal and backdrop to such an unforgettable affair, were great conversation pieces. That evening was made possible with a lot of help from great sponsors.
